AnnouncementProductOct 28, 2026

XREAL AURA, the first wired XR glasses powered by Android XR, launched today with pricing starting at USD 1,099 in the U.S., Canada, and Korea. The glasses weigh under 95 grams and pair with a compute puck containing Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.'s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform. Android XR brings Gemini and Google Play apps, including over 150 made for XR, plus Wired Mirroring for laptops and gaming features.

Why it matters

XREAL has launched XREAL AURA, the first wired XR glasses built on Android XR, marking a notable collaboration between the eyewear maker and Google's XR platform. The glasses keep weight low by shifting processing, battery, and the Snapdragon Reality Elite platform from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. into a tethered compute puck. Transparent lenses let users see their surroundings while spatial content is projected into view, and Gemini assists across apps and even a mirrored laptop screen. The device targets work, entertainment, and gaming: users can arrange multiple apps around them, mirror a laptop with Wired Mirroring, watch immersive films, and play titles from Google Play or XR-native games. Availability covers the U.S., Canada, and Korea now, with Japan following later. The launch matters because it extends Android XR beyond one manufacturer, signals Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.'s new silicon debut, and tests consumer appetite for lightweight, phone-free spatial computing with an AI assistant woven throughout the experience.
