Siri can index more of your personal data — here's how to limit it - Engadget

AnnouncementProductOct 5, 2026

Apple has begun rolling out its redesigned Siri AI with iOS 27, requiring a waitlist for access. Engadget's Mat Smith found the assistant much improved in testing. Siri AI uses the App Intents framework to access app data via Apple Intelligence, and Apple partnered with Google to train its models. Users can restrict indexing per app by disabling "Show Content in Search," opt out of sharing Siri recordings, or revert to Siri Classic through Screen Time settings.
