Meta has quietly introduced Style Sketch, an AI app for virtually trying on clothes, initially available only in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand on both Android and iOS. The app builds a virtual closet either by linking to a user's Facebook and Instagram accounts or from photos the user uploads or takes. It then suggests outfit combinations and lets users preview looks on a virtual model matched to their body type and skin tone, with options to plan around a chosen garment, the day's weather, or an upcoming trip. The launch follows Waddle World, a pet-style journaling game released in the Philippines, reflecting Meta's broader push into standalone AI apps. Mark Zuckerberg has said AI tools now make app development far easier, and that these releases also encourage people to use and help train Meta's systems. The company faces competition, as other tech firms already offer similar virtual try-on features.
