GitHub - SRKRZ23/vramkit: Lossless-verified VRAM compression for LLM inference: a weight codec (-27% mean / -33% best vs 4-bit on real Qwen weights, beats zstd, lossless) + drop-in PyTorch KV-cache compression (int8 ~2x near-lossless, outlier-aware int4 at cos-sim 0.999). ROCm/CUDA/MPS/CPU.

AchievementProductOct 17, 2026

A benchmark on Qwen2.5-0.5B shows int8 KV-cache compression roughly halves memory with near-zero quality loss (+0.02% perplexity), verified by bit-exact roundtrip assertions. The vramkit toolkit also losslessly compresses quantized weights to 2.92 bits/weight on average, beating zstd-19 on four of five tensor types. The author reports outlier-aware int4 KV compression still regresses ~9.5% perplexity, calling it work-in-progress. All results were reproduced on a MacBook; GPU validation is pending.
