Eric Nguyen, co-founder of Radical Numerics, helped develop genomic language models Evo and Evo 2 at Stanford and Arc Institute; those models were later used to generate complete bacteriophage genomes that were synthesized into functional viruses. Nguyen argues the same GLM capabilities that raise biological risk can also strengthen biosecurity defense, which he says is currently falling behind. Radical Numerics is scaling GLMs to broader biological problems, including chain-of-thought-style RNA optimization.
