OpenAI reports that its autonomous vulnerability pipeline, powered by an upcoming cyber model, validated 1,724 Linux kernel vulnerabilities and generated 948 working local privilege escalation exploits in a single October 2026 run, at a total API cost of $1,213,430. The pipeline also produced candidate patches for maintainer review and, per OpenAI, discovered at least 10 novel Linux exploitation techniques. OpenAI says stronger models found over five times more novel LPEs than a July run.
