Tell HN: Gemini trains on chat history, even for subscribers (personal accounts)

AnnouncementProductNov 4, 2026

Google states that Gemini app activity, when the Keep Activity setting is enabled, is used to improve its services, including training generative AI models. The policy applies to paid personal subscribers with no opt-out aside from disabling Keep Activity or using temporary chats; doing so deletes saved sessions after 72 hours. Google warns users not to enter confidential information, and chats read by human reviewers are retained for up to three years even after activity deletion.
