Serious coding with LLMs. Lab notes 2026-10-27

AnnouncementResearchOct 26, 2026

An IfSQ-based code review found that code generated by Claude contains serious quality problems, even though LLMs outperform IfSQ at detecting certain issues. The experiment, Lab Note #6, involves building a visual modelling application of roughly 140k lines of C++, generated almost exclusively by Claude Code. The author states over 50% of effort now goes to quality and defects rather than features, and concludes LLM agents cannot replace human engineers.
