Runway has shared research on real-time video generation that would stream video as users prompt it instead of waiting for finished output. The approach, first discussed with Runway Characters, builds on GWM-1, Runway's General World Model introduced in December 2025, which is based on Gen-4.5. Runway also recently showed Solaris, which generates user interfaces frame by frame. Runway says it addresses error compounding by training the model on its own outputs. Runway hasn't announced an availability timeline.
