Pennsylvania will require labels on AI-generated ads

AnnouncementPolicyOct 24, 2026

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act into law on Thursday, requiring labels on ads significantly modified or generated by AI. The law applies across formats and regardless of where ads are created. State Senator Nick Pisciottano introduced the bill. The law leaves loopholes, including a subjective standard for what counts as "significantly modified" and exemptions for parody, satire, and evidently fictional content.
