OpenMobile-2 proves open-source smartphone agents can rival proprietary models

AchievementModelOct 25, 2026

Researchers from Nanjing University and SenseTime say OpenMobile-2's larger model scored 59.6 on SPA-Bench, the highest result among open models on real Android devices. Built on Qwen3.5 and Qwen3.6, the open-source project trains agents across more than 110 simulated apps. The team found app diversity matters more than data volume: with constant data, more apps raised success on unseen apps from 60.7 to 67.5 percent.
