Kyutai CADRE: Video Autoencoders That Cut World Model Lag Below 230 ms

AnnouncementModelOct 23, 2026

Kyutai released CADRE, a family of seven open causal diffusion video autoencoders built for action-conditioned world models. Per the paper, CADRE-based world models run at 20 fps on one H100 and react within 230 ms; CADRE-2×32×32 reacts in 185 ms. CADRE beat MIRA, Wan 2.2, Cosmos and LTX-2 in 42 of 48 comparisons, with driving FVD of 162.6 versus 599.7 for Wan 2.2. Code is MIT licensed; weights are CC BY-NC 4.0.
