Anthropic's Claude now writes code and proves it safe automatically

AnnouncementModelOct 23, 2026

Anthropic and partner Theorem used Claude to mathematically verify existing open-source code, generating roughly 180 million lines of proof for 123 libraries in Google's OSS-Fuzz project within a few weeks. Claude caught hundreds of bugs that conventional testing missed, including a decade-old logical error. Anthropic says proofs are checked automatically by Rocq, though results hold only under strict conditions such as single-threaded programs and inputs under 64 MB.
