Installing claude-mem uploads your last 30 days of prompts to cmem.ai, no opt-in · Issue #5176 · thedotmack/claude-mem

AnnouncementProductOct 29, 2026

cmem.ai's claude-mem installer (v15.2.0 and later) uploads users' last 30 days of prompts without opt-in, per a GitHub issue. The setup screen says "Checking your AI usage" but never states prompts are uploaded; cmem.ai confirmed unticking the anonymization checkbox doesn't stop it. cmem.ai sent prompts to a DeepSeek model via OpenRouter and says it cannot identify which provider received them. Blocking cmem.ai before installing avoids the upload.
