OpenAI announced GPT-6 Cyber, a cybersecurity model trained to find and validate exploitable vulnerabilities while staying within researcher-defined scope. It scores 48.5% on ExploitGym, up from GPT-5.6 Cyber's 32.1%, and avoided exploiting out-of-scope services in 99.93% of alignment tests without deployment prompts. OpenAI researchers used it to develop 948 privilege escalation exploits in Linux and identify 81 previously unknown high-severity Firefox vulnerabilities, many now patched by Mozilla.
