Exa has released Agent Ultra, the highest effort level of its Exa Agent API, available now by setting effort: "ultra". Exa reports that Agent Ultra outperformed Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Astra, and Perplexity Agent at maximum effort on four research benchmarks, including WANDR and DeepSearchQA; results are vendor-reported. Runs typically take about 30 minutes, with a three-hour ceiling, and cost up to $20 by default, adjustable from $1 to $100. It is not open weights.
