Learning more about Claude's mathematical capabilities

AnnouncementProductAug 10, 2026

An unreleased research version of Claude improved the lower bound for the fraction of Riemann zeta function zeros satisfying the Riemann hypothesis from 41.6% to 67.2%. Anthropic mathematicians Levent Alpöge and Ralph Furman validated the result, while experts Brian Conrey and Dan Goldston reviewed the paper. Claude produced a formally verifiable Lean proof and published its findings as a paper after extensive self-review using subagents.
