Eka Robotics has closed a $150 million Series A round at a $1.45 billion post-money valuation, led by a16z and F-Prime. Founded by MIT professor Pulkit Agrawal and former Google DeepMind researcher Tuomas Haarnoja, the startup builds robots that grasp objects using a vision-force-action model and force-sensitive gripper. The company says its robot picks up about 1,500 objects per hour with over 95% reliability, and observers including Kris Hauser noted it adapts to new objects without retraining.
