Daily AI usage in the U.S. has more than doubled in just six months

The share of U.S. adults using AI almost every day more than doubled from 8 percent to 19 percent between March and August 2026, according to surveys conducted by Epoch AI with polling firm Ipsos. Occasional users who used AI one day a week fell from 17 percent to 10 percent. Epoch AI cautions the results aren't fully comparable due to changed survey methodology, which may underestimate August usage.
