Crusoe sells troubled Wyoming data center project to Google

AnnouncementFundingNov 7, 2026

Crusoe confirmed Friday that it sold its unfinished data center project in southeastern Wyoming to Google, which plans to invest $17 billion to develop the campus. Crusoe had originally announced the project with Blackstone-backed Tallgrass, targeting up to 10 gigawatts of capacity. The sale price was not disclosed; Bloomberg first reported the deal in June. Google had reportedly raised concerns about cost and timeline, but continues working with Crusoe on a data center near Amarillo, Texas.
