According to Hugging Face Inc., Qwen eclipsed Meta Platforms Inc. at 227 million and Alphabet Inc. at 418 million downloads. Alibaba has open-sourced over 460 models, generating 300,000-plus derivatives. The Hugging Face report calls Qwen "one of the largest foundations of the open AI ecosystem," noting it has become part of developers' default workflow.
