Adobe Lightroom mobile can now open closed eyes in photos with a simple tap

Adobe has introduced a generative AI feature to Lightroom mobile that opens closed eyes in photos with a single tap. When the app detects a person or group with closed eyes, it displays an Open Eyes Quick Action icon over the image, giving users immediate access to the tool. The feature draws on other images of the same person in the user's Lightroom library as references, so the generated eyes match the subject's own color, size, and shape, while also fitting the photo's lighting and pose. This is not Adobe's first attempt at the problem: Photoshop Elements has offered eye replacement for nearly a decade, but it copies eyes from another photo, with results that vary depending on differences between the images. A similar fix is possible in Photoshop, but it requires more manual work and is not free. The new tool is free to try twice, after which users are prompted to subscribe to a Creative Cloud plan for additional AI credits, as DPReview reported.
